Hookah 101 – Vol. 2: “How to Clean Your Hookah”
Hookah 101 – Vol.2: “How to Clean Your Hookah” is a 5 minute video showcasing the proper way to dismantle and then clean your hookah. We walk you through the right way to easily clean your hookah. With regular maintenance, scrubbing out your hookah should take less than 5 minutes from beginning to end. I recommend doing a little tidying every week to keep your hookah in the best condition that it can be, and to keep your shisha tasting FRESH- instead of last week’s Hookah Freak.
This blog breaks down the video into easy to read steps for you, so whether you prefer video or written word, you’re set! Some things you’ll need in order to get started are water, vinegar, a cloth or sponge and a stem cleaning brush (every Hookah you order from HookaH-HookaH comes with a brush in your carrying bag when in stock). I wouldn’t recommend using soap because it leaves a residue and you definitely don’t want suds while you’re smoking! And stay away from the dishwasher… your hookah will be just fine without it!
Ready to get started? Good. First get all of your materials together near a sink so you don’t make a mess! Take apart your hookah piece by piece. Remove the bowl, unscrew the adapter and take off the charcoal tray. Depending on how high you built your stem, you’re going to want to unscrew it piece by piece until the entire stem is dismantled. Submerge your bowl and adapters in the vinegar and let them sit for around 2 minutes. While this is sitting, take the pieces of your stem and run the vinegar through it (this is where the sink comes in handy). Flush the entire stem with vinegar, take your stem cleaning brush and push it through all of the holes. You also might want to twist it a few times to REALLY get all the particles off. Rinse the stem by pouring water through it – make sure you do this thoroughly. If you don’t get all of the vinegar out, your next smoking session could taste like pickles… and you don’t want that! After all of the vinegar is rinsed off, set the stem aside to dry. Remove your bowl and the adapters from the vinegar and rinse them with water. If you want to get your bowl extra clean, you can take a small pipe cleaner and run it through the holes. After you’re sure your bowl is clean, set it aside to dry. The charcoal tray just needs to be rinsed with water and wiped with the cloth. Now for the vase – pour vinegar into the vase and swish it around by picking up the vase and moving it in a circular motion. Take your stem cleaning brush again (see, these things are uber useful!) and bend it to get the tobacco ring off of the inside of your vase. Rinse that with water and set it aside to dry.

Hookah 101 – Vol. 1: “How to Set Up a Hookah”
We know you have questions, and thankfully, we have your answers. Most hookah companies have a Q & A page, but that’s dull, and we’re more technologically savvy than that. You’d be surprised at how many people don’t even know what a hookah is. We’re constantly fielding questions about what a hookah is, how it works, how to put it together… so, we came up with a pretty brilliant idea (if I do say so myself). In the effort of saving you time – and yes, I realize some of my blogs are quite lengthy – we wanted to give you a source to answer all of your questions visually. Instead of reading instructions on your most frequently asked questions, we decided to make “How to Videos” for you watch and learn from. Cognitive Learning has been proven to produce higher results than any other category, and we’re hip on the Science scene. Besides that, all of our videos feature the beautiful and charismatic CARMEN – and she’s real easy on the eyes.
Our “How to Videos” are packed with information on very specific topics concerning all things hookah and hookah related. The step-by-step instructional video will be sure to leave you feeling educated and knowledgeable on every hookah issue under the sun. The best thing about having a video, as opposed to a step-by-step instruction manual, is that you’re able to work through the process at the exact same time you’re learning it! It’s genius, I know.
